Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Blake Treinen has released a statement about his baseball team’s decision to honor the ‘Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,’ a controversial and brazenly blasphemous drag queen troup.
The drag nuns were initially invited to participate in the Dodger’s 10th annual Pride Night scheduled for June 16 and receive a “community hero award.” They were disinvited amid pressure from Christian groups, then reinvited following backlash from LGTBQ radicals. The group is known for its garish barb and blasphemous displays and performances, occasionally featuring a crucified Jesus engaged in sex acts.
“I am disappointed to see the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence honored as heroes at Dodger Stadium. Many of their performances are blasphemous, and their work only displays hate and mockery of Catholics and the Christian faith…This group openly mocks Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of my faith, and I want to make it clear that I do not agree with nor support the decision of the Dodgers to ‘honor’ the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.”
